As I mentioned previously I have been busy working on a book about a girl named Julia. This is one of the drawings included in the book.
All the drawing were inspired by photographs and drawn entirely in Adobe Illustrator. I use my Wacom Tablet and draw it meticulously piece by piece. I like this style of drawing because it reminds me of silkscreen the way you break the shadow and colour down into sections and layer them .

Well it's been awhile since I last blogged but I have been doing some work.... really.
I friend of mine was putting together a book for kids and wanted some illustrations for it. That was a lot more work then I ever imagined and although I really loved doing it by the time it was published I was exhausted and needed a bit of a break.
The book was about a girl named Julia and her life and her family. My friend who wrote the book is married with no kids of his own. He was diagnosed with cancer several years ago with very few years to live. Julia is the daughter of his good friend and business partner. He's known Julia since she was born and has developed a strong bond with her. He wanted to leave her with a memory book that he wrote just for her.
